R U THERE?
A drama of international-internet relations
An actor—a screen—an actress
In Israel – Boaz gets called up for reserve duty, goes out on a military mission and even gets a commendation for distinguished service. Only when he returns home he discovers that he can’t take off his uniform.
In the Netherlands: Sophia is looking for someplace where she can be herself, without pretending and without the effort to please others.
A happenstance meeting between the two blossoms into a love story that continues to develop via the internet. She tries to touch and heal her beloved through another culture, a foreign language, and a distance of thousands of kilometers. He seeks absolution and protection in her arms.
A world first: a play taking place in two countries simultaneously, in an apartment in Amsterdam and a flat in Acco, connected by cameras and the internet. This is a unique theatre event of an intimate encounter between two lovers, two audiences, and two cultures.
