Antiwords

The Spitfire Company (Czech Republic) presents: "Antiwords"

A performance influenced by the works of major Czech playwright Václav Havel, especially his play “Audience” and his legendary film “Adaptation.” What happens when a brewmeister and a persecuted politician (both alter egos of Havel) meet on stage? Two actresses, a case of genuine Czech beer, enormous masks and absurd humor create the action of a metaphorical encounter.

A Shakespeare troupe is the artistic platform for physical theatre, visual theatre, and dance. This is one of the most innovative ensembles in the Czech Republic today, playing with comic imbalance between characters, a fusion of genres.

The play arrives at the Acco Festival after great successes in Berlin, Prague, Milan, Florence, Washington, New York, London, Peking and Oslo. Winner of many Czech awards and top hit of the Next Wave Festival. The company returns to the Acco Festival after their production last year of “The Voice of Anne Frank.”

*The play is in Czech with Hebrew translation
